On a recent ghost tour of Victorian Charm Antiques (read the full article here), my husband brought along a film camera from the 1950s and took a couple photos. He was hoping it would work and I was hoping something paranormal might be caught on camera (I mean, of course I was!).
The photos were developed and as we were looking through them, we all had a moment.
“Do you see the face in the window?” I could hardly stand the excitement and terror of it all. Had we really been that lucky on a first attempt to capture a spirit on camera?
No. But we were fooled for a moment.
Even my skeptic husband could hardly deny the odd face reflected in the glass. “It was probably a customer inside, looking out.”
“No,” I said, “It was just us inside when you took this.”(First photo) Wow. Evidence of the paranormal caught on film. How exciting!
Then I flipped to the next photo and was deflated. Oh. The next photo, taken about 5-10 minutes later, had the same face in the window, only now it was clearer. It was the design on the welcome sign. Wah waaaaah.
Oh well, it is still a fascinating location and I would love to go back and take more photos with old cameras. Who knows, maybe something will turn up that won’t be so easy to debunk!
Here are the photos. Sunflowers for my kiddos privacy. Take a look at the window.
We tried! Hope you enjoyed seeing the photos, even if they were debunked!
